吉井朱美

山口県生まれ。
歴史の記憶の中に消えゆく食文化や食習慣を掘り起こし、
記録することを”foodtale collecting”と呼び、ライフワークとしている。

日本でメディア関連の仕事に携わった後、2003年に渡豪。
アデレード大学大学院にて古代インドの食研究およびル･コルドンブルー･ガストロノミー学修士取得。
2008年に南インド・マドラス（チェンナイ）に移住。ライティング・翻訳・食文化リサーチを軸に活動。

現在は日本とオーストラリアを行き来しながら、英連邦圏の食文化および山口の郷土料理の研究を続けている。

Akemi Yoshii

Born in Yamaguchi, Japan.
She is a foodtale collector — one who unearths food cultures and rituals fading from historical memory,
and preserves their stories.

After working in media in Japan, she moved to Australia in 2003,
completing a Master of Gastronomy at the University of Adelaide in partnership with Le Cordon Bleu,
with research focused on ancient Indian food culture.

In 2008, she relocated to Madras (Chennai) in South India,
working across writing, translation, and food culture research.

She now divides her time between Japan and Australia,
continuing her research into the food cultures of the Commonwealth
and the traditional cuisine of Yamaguchi.
